PET THE KITTY by MEL DAU (REVIEW!!!)
Good Afternoon Truth Seekers!
My first review for today is Pet The Kitty by the fabulous Mel Dau. I can't remember if this is my first read by this author because I've read so many books. However, this is my first review. Now, listen! I don't know where this author's head was during the writing process of this book, but I'm going to need for her to stay there. The storyline was awesome, and I wouldn't have believed the outcome had I not read it for myself. With that being said, let's get into it.
Alpha and Kaitlyn fell hard and fast. Once she decided to give him the kitty IT WAS OVER! That man told her she was his, and she couldn't do anything but oblige. Being in the state she was in, I would have probably obliged, too. What I wasn't expecting was this plot twist that came into play. Kaitlyn went from being this meek, humble and conservative school teacher, with a house full of cats, to being a woman of the night. She was on some bald-headed hoe sh*t. Let me just say in her words that "zero f*ks were given," though. I also wasn't expecting there to be a cause for her actions. I thought she was just a dude in a woman's body, but boy was I wrong!
Trauma is the cause of why we do a lot of things or act a certain way. Some people may think they've never had a traumatic experience, but that's furthest from the truth. Just like in Kaitlyn's case, we push it into the back of our minds or forget about it. This is the issue that came up in this book that made it very interesting. It was my intention to tell you all everything, but I just don't have the heart to spoil it as I originally planned. I thought I knew how this story would turn out. I kept guessing and making assumptions all through this read, but I was the one who ended up with wide eyes and an opened mouth. I would have never thought of that.
I give this book 5 Stars!!! I love a good plot twist, and Mel Dau (Melvin's Daughter) definitely gave me one. My favorite lines were when she asked, "Do you want to pet the kitty;" and Jamal said, "Do you want to swallow the snake?" Honey, I hollered because lil' mama had finally met her match! To the reviewer who wrote this:
"I understand trying new storylines but this this book was horrible all the way around. It seem liked one long run on sentence and the whole sleep walking into a hoe thing was just trash."
I don't know what you read, but I can't take you serious when your whole review is "one long run on sentence." I SAID WHAT I SAID! This really is a good book y'all, and I recommend it.
I'll be back in a flash!
